I live an hour away from Seminole Wind restaurant in Thomasville, Georgia. I would travel three hours up hill and in the rain just to get to this place. If you can’t find something you like on their buffet, then I just don’t know what to say to you... The trio of collard, mustard, and turnip greens, and the old fashioned macaroni and cheese just to name a few, are second to none. The fresh vegetables there are soooo good and they remind me of what it’s like to grow up in the south. They have the best fried fish, chicken, etc. Be sure to try their full dessert bar, especially the peach cobbler. Yes, I’m going to go there - “you ain’t had good eatin til you go git you some!!!!”

This was worth our trip to Thomasville. Came to town for business. Afterwards we checked out restaurants in the area. We agree that we will return, whether we have a reason or not. It was 3 1/2 hours away, one way. It was worth it. The employees are so mindful of their customers. You can tell that they do their cooking from scratch. Just look at the picture. Rutabagas, sweet taters, hominy, meatloaf and coleslaw. There was rice & tomatoes, gizzards and liver, fried fish, fried and baked chicken, black eyed peas and rice, collard, turnip and mustard greens, beets, salad bar, apple and peach cobblers, a variety of cakes and puddings. I have not had hominy in years due to the fact I'm the only one in the family who likes it. So I made sure to eat my fill. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

Eating a meal a Seminole Wind is like coming home to my Mama's Home Cooking. Have you ever eaten at a place that just made you feel good all over? I'm not talking about just the food. There are several places in town that can serve you a delious meal, but do they make you feel like you just sat down at your Mama's. table? Seminole Winds can. The waitress treat you like family, whether is skeeterdoole Missy, whose feet have wings, or Crissy who adopts you and needs to make sure you are OK, to little Megan who shyly runs her area, to Leona who'll treat you like a sister to Sherry who has to be the big sister and keep all areas running smoothly. These ladies know how to make sure you are properly taken care of. The menu is made of real food, not that canned stuff. They order up fresh produce daily from the farmers market and Lewis Produce. The potatoes are real, not flash in the pan dried stuff. The meat is as fresh as can be for the most part. Jackie comes in early every morning to cook food for that day. You aren't getting yesterday's left overs, it's fresh every day, just like at home. Then theres Terry who cooks like my daddy. He fries up the best porkchops in town, and no place in town can touch his chicken. Like I said, it's like coming home to my Mama's cooking. So when you feel like you just need to go eat somewhere that makes you feel welcomed, give Seminole Winds a try and you will know what it is like to come home to real southern style home cooking. Enjoy and be blessed.

Eating homemade meals at Seminole Wind sourced from some locally grown foods has some nutritional advantages. Today, I tried hominy. What is it? It turns out that it has B vitamin, folate, magnesium and it is low glycemic. Hominy was probably nor grown here, but I am glad to have had another pro healthy food choice for many.
